In 1984, two
accountants in Melbourne decided that they could make better accounting
applications then what was available in the marketplace. Their innovative
ideas lead to the development of the Catsoft and the slogan "by accountants
for accountants".
An asset register (Catsoft Assets) and a lease (Leasecat) accounting
software were the first software to be made under the Catsoft brand. These
software packages greatly automated business processing and have since
gained a reputation for its ease of use and quality reporting.
During the late 1980's, due to demand and the increasing pace of
technological advancement, Catsoft decided it was time to introduce another
two software: Taxcat and Ledgercat. Taxcat assisted tax agents in both
preparation and electronic lodgement of tax returns while Ledgercat became a
general ledger software which included a host of attached modules for
practice management.
Catsoft is committed to continually developing and
enhancing software to meet user needs. Our bar-code module has
been a popular add-on
to our fixed
assets register software (Catsoft Assets). Recent developments have included a
time billing software (CatHub) to assist in the preparation of time sheets, invoices and reporting.
Our ELS software (Taxcat) continues to be strengthened
with more Tax Agent friendly features including activity statement pre-population and
the pre-filling of Individual Tax Returns with downloaded information from
